ABOUT US
We are an eco-socially focused youth association.
Anyone aged 15–30 can join the Young Greens (after joining, you can stay with us until you are 35). We bring together young people with the aim of activating a new generation in the Czech Republic that wants to do things differently and more effectively than the previous ones. We are a collective – we help each other and support everyone who needs our help, not just the young!
We believe that the climate crisis is humanity's greatest challenge. We also believe that the right approach to solving it lies in fighting for working people and the economically disadvantaged, for example in the issue of affordable housing. We must not forget the rights of ethnic and sexual minorities.
We organize events – from cultural events to discussions and debates – to inform the public about the issues that concern us and the goals that motivate us. Many of us are involved in other initiatives and organizations or in electoral politics.
We try to build bridges between activism and politics, because change does not end only in the streets during protests, but even the House of Representatives and local councils cannot solve problems without an active civil society.
We are part of the Young European Greens organization. It is difficult to fight for a better world without help, which is why, together with other associations, we are engaged in activism on the level of the European Union. We must prevent the further widening of the gap between the poor and the rich.
We welcome you to join us, whether as observers at open meetings or as somebody interested in becoming a member. We are not a mere commitment, but rather a platform and a place designed to bring together those who are committed to changing the world around them for the better.
